VACUUM DRIFTING

The Vacuum Drift System was designed to remove one of the most dangerous parts of casing preparation, which is using a snake and drift to confirm casing ID. This eliminates the hazards of conventional drifting while ensuring there are no deformities in the tubular. Efficiency without the noise. This design reduces operation noise by utilizing a vane pump instead of a blower creating 27 mercury units of vacuum force. With the unit fully mobile it can be utilized anywhere on-site, even in difficult-to-reach areas with any length of hose. It contains an adjustable reverse function to push the drift if it becomes lodged in the tubular. Drift times per/joint depend on casing size and volume of air moved.

CRT NUBBIN

The ProTorque CRT Nubbin was designed to protect both the CRT packer cup and the tubular connection when a Casing Running Tool is used. Damage can occur to the seal and thread profile of the connection if there is misalignment when inserting the CRT. Without a CRT Nubbin, damage can occur to the packer cup as it passes through the connection. The nubbin’s improved stab flank reduces interference when inserting the CRT.

Tether Ring

ProTorque Logo

TETHER RING

The patented ProTorque Tether Ring was designed as a safety device for Casing Running Tools (CRT). The Bolt-On Replaceable Anchors protect the Grease Port of the Sealed Bearing, with load rated / shock absorbing anchor points, allow the operator to secure the Tether Ring and CRT to the top drive below any connection that might back out. In the event that the CRT becomes disengaged from the top drive quill, the anchor points and safety sling ensures it does not fall to the rig floor. The safety slings are attached to the bail anchors on the Top Drive for a secure anchor point.

RCD INSTALLATION

The RCD (Rotating Control Device) Press is used to install or remove a tubular onto an RCD Head. The head is used with Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) and is conventionally installed on the rig floor. This method of installation can cause a variety of handling and safety concerns. When installing ahead on the rig floor, the rig cost is Non-Productive Time (NPT) so by taking this operation offline we are able to remove the hazards and costs associated.

POWER TONG & TUBULAR RUNNING SERVICES

Proper power tong selection for every casing connection is a critical aspect of any tubular running operation. Premium connection torques may dictate the use of specialty components such as hydraulic / air slips or integral back-ups for your power tong. Depending on manufacturer specifications integral back-ups may be a make-up requirement. Our expansive fleet of specialized TRS equipment is available to support the make-up of high torque connection values up to 50,000 ft/lbs. We are able to do this while still maintaining the smallest possible footprint on the rig floor. Our focus is on having the right TRS equipment specific to every job.

POWER TONG TECHNICIANS

Our experienced and skilled power tong technicians play a major role in the safety and efficiency of a casing run. This makes the selection of your power tong service company a key component of overall performance.

ProTorque attracts and employs some of the industry’s most talented and experienced casing running technicians. Every detail of a casing run must be considered when looking for cost savings and efficiency; particularly on long production strings where every second counts while maintaining a safe operation. When making-up hundreds of connections, filling on the fly and selecting the correct handling equipment (air or hydraulic powered slips); we save time and effort on long challenging casing runs. ProTorque can meet handling requirements of up to 500 tons of hoist capability.

VOLANT®
CASING RUNNING TOOL (CRT)

The CRT is designed for top drive equipped rigs. Its compact design is compatible with most rig configurations and sizes. The completely mechanical design will simplify operations and minimize downtime. Its operation and rig-in remains instinctively simple: a dual release safety mechanism combining weight and rotation. This is necessary for the CRT to be released from the casing.

The ability to rotate, circulate and reciprocate your casing instantly reduces the probability of stuck casing in the most challenging hole conditions. This system will increase safety and assist in efficiently getting your casing to bottom, all while reducing the amount of personnel on the floor.
